Starting October 20, 2025, Google is simplifying its Local Services Ads by introducing a single, cohesive Google Verified badge for all advertisers.
Currently, businesses may display badges like Google Guaranteed, Google Screened, or License Verified by Google. With the new update, these badges will be replaced by the unified Google Verified badge. This change aims to provide a clearer and more consistent experience for consumers.
For existing advertisers, no action is required. If you’ve already completed the necessary verification requirements, you’ll automatically receive the new badge, and your ads will continue running as usual.
For new advertisers, you’ll need to successfully complete the Local Services screening and verification process to earn the Google Verified badge. This process includes background checks, license verification, and insurance checks, depending on your business category and location.
The Google Verified badge will be displayed on your Local Services Ads profile and may also appear on other Google surfaces where it can help consumers make informed decisions. The badge will indicate the specific verification checks you’ve completed, providing more transparency to potential customers.
As part of this update, Google is discontinuing the Money Back Guarantee associated with the Google Guarantee badge. Eligible consumers can still submit reimbursement requests for services booked through Local Services Ads before October 20, 2025, within 30 days of the initial service completion date.
This update streamlines the verification process and makes it easier for consumers to trust the businesses they find through Local Services Ads. If you’re a local service provider, ensure you’ve completed all necessary verification steps to take advantage of the new Google Verified badge.
