Local Services Ads: Partner Updates [April 2022]

Welcome to the latest Google Local Services Ads Partner Updates for April. Here are the key developments:

Apply for Local Services Ads Partner Program

Google’s Local Services Ads team is expanding the Partner Program to support agencies and large, multi-location businesses in growing and expanding their operations with Local Services Ads. Partners in the program can enjoy benefits such as:

  • Ongoing engagement with an Account Manager or 1:1 consultation with an LSA specialist.
  • Technical support, access to product resources, and insights into LSA.
  • Optimization recommendations and assistance with onboarding new accounts and verticals.

If you represent an agency or a large business and are interested in joining the program, please complete the details in this form. You will be contacted by the LSA Partner Program manager to assess your account’s eligibility.

Reminder: Policy Enforcement on Duplicate Accounts and Serving Areas

LSA continues to enforce policies regarding duplicate accounts and overlapping service areas. If a single business has multiple listings, LSA will take action based on the frequency and severity of the violation. Consequences may include displaying only the top-ranked ad (with others not shown), issuing warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent ad removal. Please review our Local Services Platform Policies concerning serving areas and duplicate accounts, which clearly state, “In order to ensure fair business competition, if you have multiple accounts, only one account and job type may use a specific ZIP Code at a time.” To minimize the risk of suspension, ensure your accounts are linked to their Google Business Profile here. If you do not have a GPB, consider creating one to collect reviews.

New CIDs Default to Max Conversion Bidding

The bidding mode for all newly created CIDs will now default to maximize leads. This change is based on data showing that accounts with maximize leads enabled tend to perform better and generate more leads. If you prefer to set a maximum lead price manually, you can still adjust it in your Profile and Budget page.
