Local Service Ads Shifts From App to Web Platform

Google is set to discontinue the Local Services Ads mobile app on January 6, 2025, making the LSA website the sole interface for creating and managing local advertising campaigns.

Key Details:

  • Existing app users can continue using it until the shutdown date.
  • After January 6, all Local Services Ads functionality will transition to a web-based platform only.
  • Users’ ad campaigns, data, and ability to create new ads will remain unaffected.

What You Need to Know:

  • Seamless Transition: Although the app will be phased out, your existing ad campaigns, associated data, and the ability to start new campaigns will remain unaffected. This transition aims to streamline the management process across platforms.
  • App Availability Ceased: As of now, the LSA mobile app has been removed from both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store for new installations. Current users can continue using the app for campaign management until January 6, 2025.
  • Website as the Central Hub: After this date, all campaign-related activities—whether creating, viewing, or modifying Local Services Ads—will need to be handled through the Google Local Services Ads website. This unified approach promises enhanced functionality and ease of use.

Why We Care:

This change will require Local Services Ads users to manage their campaigns exclusively through Google’s browser-based platform, offering a centralized and streamlined experience.
